Fraud Blocker Kassow Robots & SICK PLOC2D Camera: Seamless Automation

KASSOW Robots and SICK PLOC2D Camera Integration: Seamless Automation Solutions

Effortless Integration with KASSOW Robots.

KASSOW Robots offer seamless integration with the SICK PLOC2D camera through the pre-configured cbun software. This setup eliminates the need for extensive training in computer vision, simplifying the automation process.

Key Benefits:

  • User-Friendly Interface: The intuitive web application allows users to define the job for the camera, including part orientation and picking instructions. The software handles part orientation, reducing the complexity for the end user.
  • Job Flexibility: Easily switch between different tasks and adjust the score threshold to fine-tune part identification and localisation.
  • Compact and Versatile: The 7-axis robots from Kassow are designed to work efficiently in tight spaces, with various KR robot models available for different payloads and reach requirements.

The below video shows the use of a SICK PLOC2D camera to identify and locate parts in a collection of randomly placed objects. The part locations are then used to guide the KASSOW KR1410 collaborative robot, which is equipped with an ONROBOT 3FG finger gripper, to pick the parts we’re interested in and load them where they are required.

Advantages of Robotic Guidance Systems

  1. Enhanced Autonomy: Advanced cameras and algorithms enable robots to perceive and understand their environment, for improving their capabilities towards greater autonomy.
  2. Superior Quality Control: Integrating vision systems and sensors with robots enhances defect detection and ensures higher quality control in manufacturing processes.
  3. High Precision and Accuracy: Robots equipped with guidance systems perform tasks with exceptional precision and accuracy, minimising human error and improving outcomes in fields such as manufacturing, assembly, and surgery.

Key Features:

  • Flexible Production: The gripper’s large-stroke design accommodates multiple part sizes with ease, reducing the need for multiple grippers.
  • Accurate Positioning: With its centric positioning system, the gripper ensures high quality and consistency in output with minimal programming effort.
  • Strong and Stable Grip: The three contact points provide a reliable and secure hold, making it easy to switch between different processes.
  • Customisable Fingertips: Tailor the gripper to handle a diverse range of part sizes and shapes, maximising its application potential.

The video below demonstrates a set up with two jobs for the SICK PLOC2D camera, one for each part type we want to identify and locate. The camera classifies and locates the randomly placed parts according to the Job ID.

Similar to the first video above, the ONROBOT 3FG finger gripper attached to a KASSOW 1410 is used to pick the parts and place them in a different bin based on the Job ID assignment by the camera.

This video demonstration below uses a SICK PLOC2D camera to locate parts which are randomly placed in a workspace. The part locations from the camera are then used to guide the KASSOW KR1410 collaborative robot, which is equipped with an ONROBOT MG10 magnetic gripper, to pick the parts and drop them off in their new location.
